Advanced Manufacturing/ Machine Tool

Work Study & Career Opportunities

On Tuesday, October 10, the Advanced Manufacturing and DECA students toured Gorton’s of Gloucester. Pete Lucido of Gorton’s led the tour, “As you can see, there are lots of opportunities for those looking for work-study or post high school careers! We look forward to continuing working with you to further develop this partnership.”

Students participating in this Chapter 74-approved CVTE Program will also be eligible to receive college credit, participate in paid internships, go out on work internships, and earn credentials in the machine technology and engineering industry while still in high school.  Students learn how to use CAD, blueprint reading, and develop high level skills by working on a variety of integrated projects in the shop.  Students in Machine Technology and Engineering have participated in work-based internships with various businesses in the fields of machining, advanced manufacturing, and biomedical engineering. The Gloucester High School Machine Technology program is equipped with tools and equipment used in industry and has expanded to add the latest CNC machining equipment including a Knee Mill with 3D capabilities, 2 lathes and another CNC mill.
